All applicants must be available to work from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Scheduled vacation time will be approved on a first come basis. 

Available positions include:​ 

Club Manager: 

This is a full time position. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Successful candidate must be willing to work closely with, and directly under, the Executive Board of Directors and will act as a liaison between the Executive Board and staff. You will be required to uphold the Club standard of professionalism to all staff, guests, and members. Club Manager must have the following current certifications: Pool Operations, Red Cross lifeguard certifications, as well as First Aid, CPR, and Infant CPR.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • liaising with Board President about lifeguard scheduling 
  • conducting weekly staff meetings and emergency preparedness training 
  • maintaining water quality and records to be in compliance with Maryland regulations concerning pool operations 
  • maintain emergency records
  • maintain and order chemical supplies
  • training life guards to become familiar with pump room system
  • delegate grounds and facility maintenance scheduling to guards
  • enforce employee handbook and procedures to all staff
  • enforce pool rules to members, guests, and staff
  • assume lifeguard duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary


Assistant Manager:

This is a part time position (aprox 25-30 hours per week) Applicants must be at least 17 years old. Successful candidate must be willing to work closely with, and directly under, the Club Manager to implement pool policies and procedures in the absence of the Club Manager. The assistant manager must have the following current certifications: Pool Operations, Red Cross lifeguard certifications, as well as First Aid, CPR, and Infant CPR.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • assisting Club Manager in all aspects of daily operations as set forth by the Club Manager
  • attend weekly staff meetings and emergency preparedness training and assist Manager as needed
  • you will be required to help maintain club appearance of grounds and cleanliness of facilities 
  • assume all lifeguard duties and responsibilities

Lifeguards:

This is a part-time position. Applicants must be at least 15 years old have the following current certifications: Red Cross lifeguard certifications, as well as First Aid, CPR, and Infant CPR. Work Permit for minors must be filled out and valid.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • follow all directions of the Club Manager and Head Guard
  • ​follow all rules and procedures of Lochearn as noted in the Employee Handbook
  • attend weekly staff meetings and emergency preparedness training
  • you will be required to help maintain club appearance of grounds and cleanliness of facilities (including cleaning restrooms, taking out trash, using a lawn mower, and other tasks set forth by the manager) 
  • assume all lifeguard duties and responsibilities
  • be available to work at least 3 shifts per week.


ALL 2nd year lifeguards must also have their pool operators certifications.
